Day 01 (Monday) 08.25 am. Arrival in Almaty,
transfer to Hotel, free time till lunch,
after lunch city tour with visiting of
Central museum of history, Panfilov memorial
park, Zenkov cathedral , memorial complex,
central square, monument of independence
etc. Excursion to the mountain area, visit
of Medeo ice-skating rink,1691m, ski-resort
“Chymbulak” 2200-2800 Dinner in jurt complex-“Kazakh
Aul”,tasting of national cuisine.
Day 02 (Tuesday) Excursion to the Great
Almaty lake, 2500m, lunch, excursion
to the falconry, show with hunting birds.
Free time. Dinner.
2250- Departure by train to Urumqi (China.
Duration: 32 hours)
Day 03 (Wednesday) - train
Day 04 (Thursday) Arrive at Urumqi at
0700 am. City tour, museum of history
of Xinjiang. Red Hill, night bazaar.
Day 05 (Friday)-Transfer to Turfan.
Excursion to Gaochang ancient city ruin
which was in the age of Tang Dynasty,
then to visit Astana Tombs under ground,
where you may not only see the well protected
mummies but also some splendid frescoes
in these tombs which age have been more
than 1400 years old. Visit to the famous
Buddha caves, hike on the famous Flaming
Mountains. At lunch time, do visit the
beautiful Grape Valleys. Have a local
testy lunch in a restaurant under the
grape vines. After your lunch, keep your
visiting to the Imi Tower Mosque, Turfan
Historical Museum, visit another ancient
city ruin which named Jiaohe, the same
age with the Gaochang, then visit Karan
Well, a kind of Irrigation system under
ground, built in ancient time, which
seems like a Man-made Grand Canal, linking
water from Tianshan Mountains to irrigate
farm land in this area.
Day 06 (Saturday) Free time in the
morning and leave for Turfan Railway
Station in order to catch up your train K886 at 13:27 PM and leave for
Kashgar. Over night on your train;
Day 07 (Sunday) Arrival in Kashgar
at 11:10 AM, Sunday is bazaar day in
Kashgar, site of perhaps the largest
and longest running bazaar in Central
Asia. As many as 100,000 people come
in from surrounding areas to buy and
sell animals and goods. There are separate
areas for animals, furniture, fabric,
clothing, shish kebobs, shaves with a
straight razor (including scalp), fruits
and vegetables, and much more. In the
animal bazaar care needs to be exhibited
as horses and donkeys are being "test-driven".
Also in the animal bazaar you can find
cattle, sheep, goats, and camels - all
in a fairly small, walled-in area. When
you are in the midst of all this, you
may feel like you have stepped back in
time several hundred years. Sunday bazaar
is now split in two parts with the main
bazaar in East Kashgar city and the animal
bazaar which is out of town about 3km.
Day 08 (Monday) Drive by an air-conditioned
bus to climb up to the Chinese Pamir
along the famous Karakorum Highway until
arriving at the beautiful Karakul Lake.
After lunch in the yurt restaurant by
the lake, set up of camping site and
to do some hiking and exploring for acclimatization
training. Camp for night. Distance -
200 km from Kashgar;
Day 09 (Tuesday) Trekking with camels
and move to Kuqikaqi.
Distance today by walk is about 13 km.
The average altitude here is about
3600 m above sea level. Camp for night at Kuqikaqi;
Day 10 (Wednesday) Trekking back to
the main road and transfer by bus back
to Kashgar. Over night in the same hotel;
Day 11 (Thursday) Kashgar-Urumqi-flight,
afternoon flight to Almaty.Arrival in
Almaty,Hotel accommodation.
Day 12 (Friday) - flight ay 1315-1740
